Job summary

A trusted leader in environmental consulting is seeking a CMT Field Technician 1 to provide accurate materials testing and documentation for heavy civil infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for performing various site tests, writing reports, and assisting with inspections. Ideal candidates have excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a valid driver's license. Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain WAQTC and ACI Certification within 3 months.
  • Knowledge of materials testing and construction practices.
  • Ability to travel for Western Washington projects.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately write and submit test reports daily.
  • Assist with inspection of Heavy Civil construction.
  • Perform a variety of job site tests and record data.
  • Sample and test Cement Concrete and other surfacing materials.
  • Use nuclear gauge for testing densities of asphalt concrete.

Core Responsibilities
  • Accurately write and submit test reports daily.
  • Assist with inspection of Heavy Civil construction.
  • Perform a variety of job site tests, record test data, and interpret test results.
  • Sample and test Cement Concrete, and other surfacing materials.
  • Sample and perform aggregate tests such as sieve analysis, sand equivalent, and moisture content.
  • Use nuclear gauge to test densities of asphalt concrete, surfacing, and earthwork.
  • Write and receive tickets for measurements of materials.

  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and navigate uneven construction sites.
  • Ability to obtain WAQTC and ACI Certification for in-place density and concrete field testing within 3 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of materials testing and construction practices.
  • Ability to travel for Western Washington per diem projects.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule to coincide with contractor activities including the ability to travel as needed, work nights, weekends, holidays, and perform emergency callouts/standby.

About the Job
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $24 - $32 hourly rate
    The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
