Job summary

DIHO Consulting USA in Odessa, TX is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring in accordance with project specs.

The role requires hands-on testing, report writing, travel to jobsites, and adherence to safety procedures; candidate should have 1+ year of CM testing experience and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of construction materials testing experience.
• Pass DISA drug screen.
• Pass background check.
• Clean driving record.
• TWIC card preferred.
• Physically able to lift heavy materials.
• Willing to be on-call and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory tests such as concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, cylinder casting).
• Perform soil compaction tests (sand cone or nuclear density gauge).
• Conduct Proctor, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis and other soil tests.
• Perform asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling.
• Monitor piles during installation and document capacity, penetration, and blows.
• Produce timely and detailed reports.
• Operate a vehicle safely and follow company safety procedures.
• Follow all company procedures and protocols.
• Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
• Build positive relationships with clients.
• Arrive at job site on time and ready for dispatch.
• Communicate with dispatch daily and with onsite clients.

Overview

DIHO Consulting USA is seeking applicants for the Construction Materials Testing Technician role in Odessa, TX. This role involves performing field and laboratory testing of construction materials—including soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring—to ensure compliance with project specifications. Candidates with ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory tests such as:
  • Concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and casting cylinders for compressive strength)
  • Soil compaction testing using sand cone or nuclear density gauge
  • Proctor, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, and other soil classification tests (as applicable)
  • Asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling
  • Pile monitoring during installation to document capacity, penetration, and blow counts
• Produce timely and detailed reports
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner and follow our corporate safety procedures at all time
• Follow all company\'s procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
• Build positive relationships with clients
• Arrive at the job site to which you are dispatched, on time each day
• Communicate with dispatch on a daily basis
• Communicate with onsite clients each day and relay any information to management

Requirements

• +1 year of experience in Construction Materials Testing.
• Must have dependable transportation
• Must be able to pass a DISA drug screen
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Clean driving record
• TWIC card (preferred)
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment
• Capable of maintaining an "On Call" type schedule and must be willing to work obscure hours
