Job summary

Ascentec Engineering in Dallas, Oregon is seeking a CMM Quality Technician for our precision CNC machine shop. This onsite role focuses on ensuring our parts meet the highest quality standards through Zeiss Calypso CMM operation and meticulous inspection.

You will be responsible for running programs, inspecting parts, contributing to AS9100 quality processes, and maintaining QA data in our tracking system. Weekend night shifts are available with a $3/hour differential.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret GD&T on mechanical drawings.
• Operate Zeiss/Calypso CMM and related metrology equipment.
• AS9100 environment experience preferred.
• Inspect parts and manage QA data.
• CNC machinist experience preferred.

Our Dallas, Oregon location is seeking a CMM Quality Technician for our Precision CNC Machine Shop. This is a critical position within the company and offers an exceptional opportunity to ensure our valued customers receive products of the highest quality possible.

Weekend Night Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This position offers an industry-leading $3 per hour shift differential.

This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Zeiss/Calypso CMM operation. Running preexisting programs.
• QA technician and final inspector for precision CNC machined parts
• Primary operator for the dedicated metrology equipment – CMM, Optical comparator, etc.
• Key contributor and participant - Quality Management System (AS9100).
• Responsible for QA data management within the Quality Tracking Database Software
• Non-Conformance verification of parts using the CMM or manual inspection methods. Checking flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism, etc.

Position Requirements

• Extremely detail oriented and focused on helping to maintain consistent quality standards
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret internal and customer provided mechanical prints including GD&T
• Strong communication skills and able to work as a team member when parts/assemblies are determined to be out of tolerance during final inspection
• Experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMM, Optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. required
• Experience with manual and/or automated CMM preferred (including formatting of CMM reports)
• Experience working within an AS 9100 registered organization is preferred
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior CNC machinist experience
• CQI or CQT preferred.
• Working knowledge of Zeiss CMM’s with Calypso software

Compensation/Benefits

• $21 to $30 per hour DOE
• $3 per hour shift differential pay for weekend night shift
