Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Valencia, CA is seeking a CMM Quality Inspector to support aerospace manufacturing quality programs. You will inspect components and assemblies, run existing CMM programs, and ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.

The role requires about three years of CMM hands-on experience, excellent measurement skills, and the ability to read blueprints. OT may be available and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Approx. 3 years of hands-on CMM operation experience.
• Ability to independently operate existing CMM programs.
• Proficiency in precision measurement and reading technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical components, subassemblies, and assemblies in aerospace manufacturing.
• Perform dimensional, visual, functional, in-process, and final inspections.
• Set up parts and run PC-DMIS or other CMM programs.
• Interpret results and troubleshoot; read engineering drawings and specs.
• Maintain inspection records and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports as assigned.
• Communicate inspection issues with production and Quality Engineering.

Job Description

• The CMM Quality Inspector supports Quality Engineering by inspecting mechanical components, subassemblies, and assemblies in a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Responsibilities include dimensional, visual, functional, receiving, in-process, and final inspection
• Setting up parts and running existing PC-DMIS or equivalent CMM programs;
• Interpreting results and performing basic troubleshooting; reading engineering drawings and quality specifications;
• Using calipers, micrometers, pin gages, microscopes, and other precision tools;
• Identifying discrepant material and initiating nonconformance documentation;
• Maintaining inspection records; completing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports as assigned;
• Reviewing final-inspection documentation;
• Supporting calibrated-tool control; and communicating inspection issues with production and Quality Engineering.
• CMM programming is not required.
• Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, approximately three years of frequent hands-on CMM operation, independent operation of existing CMM programs, precision-measurement proficiency, and technical-drawing interpretation.
• Optional overtime may be available based on business needs.
