Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a skilled CMM technician to program and operate Leica-based CMMs and portable CMMs using Polyworks software. The role involves approving production start-up and dimensional measurement of sample parts to ensure compliance with specifications.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of related experience, GD&T knowledge, and experience reading blueprints. Strong adherence to quality policies and safety procedures is required. EEO employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Three to five years related experience
• GD&T experience for print reading
• Basic caliper, micrometer, and bore gauge knowledge
• Knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001

Responsibilities

• Develops, qualifies, and maintains CMM programs.
• Inspects and approves first piece at start of production.
• Inspects and approves final inspections prior to delivery.
• Reads blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled, and fabricated weldments.
• Ensures that containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified.
• Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings.
• Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches and PPAP requirements.
• Participates in the corrective action and preventative action processes.
• Participates in Gage R & R Studies.
• Utilizes a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.
