KBR, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking a CMM Programmer in the Metrology Program to calibrate IMTE and guide workflow with technicians. You will inspect fixtures and tooling using CMM, produce new programs, and maintain existing ones. The role requires extensive CMM experience and US citizenship.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance, testing plans, and vendor scheduling, while applying GD&T and CMM best practices to ensure measurement accuracy across programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of CMM/calibration experience.
  • An associate degree in engineering technology or related field with 4+ years of experience.
  • Formal military PMEL, TMDE or calibration school training is preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship status required due to client requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the CMM process for the Metrology Program.
  • Creates new CMM programs for new products and parts as required.
  • Revises, updates, and troubleshoots existing CMM programs.
  • Performs routine maintenance on CMMs and develops PM scheduling.
  • Triages and performs CMM maintenance support; coordinates with outside vendors.
  • Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results.
  • Plans test and calibration procedures per blueprints and specs.
  • Sets up lab equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate instruments.
  • Uses direct measurement methods to verify accuracy of IMT&E.
  • Performs gauge R&R and measurement system evaluations to support manufacturing.

And that’s only the beginning.**Job Summary**CMM Programmer will provide day to day support for the Metrology Program Calibrating IMTE and guiding workflow with other technicians. Technician will be inspecting fixtures and tooling using CMM.**Roles and Responsibilities*** Provides oversight to the overall coordinate measuring machines (CMM's) process.* Creates new CMM programs for new products and parts as required.* Revises, updates, and performs troubleshooting of existing CMM programs.* Performs routine maintenance on CMM’s and develops recommended PM scheduling for users and customers.* Triage and perform CMM maintenance support. Act as the focal for scheduling outside vendors to service the CMM’s.* Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results.* Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, according to blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications.* Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.* Utilizes direct measurement methods to verify accuracy of IMT&E.* Measurement system evaluation, such as gauge R&R, correlation studies in support of manufacturing.* Candidate must possess Coordinate Measuring Machine programming experience/certification* Familiar with requirements of Y14 GD&T specifications.* Competency with Cal QC, Minitab and GOM software a plus.* Expertise in dimensional and physical calibration preferred.**Basic Qualifications*** High school diploma with 6+ years experience in the field, OR Associates degree in engineering technology or other relevant field and 4 years experience.
