Job summary

Drake Plastics is seeking a CMM Programmer to develop and maintain CMM programs, perform dimensional inspections, and partner with manufacturing to prevent defects and ensure product conformance.

This role supports reliable, repeatable manufacturing and timely product releases, with responsibilities including reading drawings, GD&T, and using precision measuring tools, while maintaining audit-ready records per AS9100D.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using drawings, specifications, GD&T, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Support production and QC releases by collaborating with operators.
  • Maintain audit-ready records in accordance with AS9100D and QMS requirements.
  • Develop proficiency with inspection equipment and support calibration activities.
  • Ensure conforming products are delivered to customers on time.

Position Summary:

The CMM Programmer supports Drake’s quality system by developing and maintaining CMM programs, performing dimensional inspections, and partnering with manufacturing to prevent defects and ensure product conformance. This position plays an important role in supporting reliable, repeatable manufacturing performance and timely product releases.

What Success Looks Like:

During your first year, you will:

  • Ensure product quality — Perform incoming, first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections using drawings, specifications, GD&T, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Support production and QC releases — Partner with operators to resolve measurement and quality issues while supporting accurate and timely product releases.
  • Maintain quality and compliance — Document inspection results, identify nonconforming product, and maintain accurate, audit‑ready records in accordance with AS9100D and QMS requirements.
  • Build technical expertise — Develop proficiency with inspection equipment, support calibration activities, and progress toward programming automated inspection equipment.
  • Drive accuracy and customer satisfaction — Take ownership of inspection activities, consistently meet quality expectations, and help ensure conforming products are delivered to customers on time.

  • Experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and precision measurement.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to train and support others.
  • Experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, medical, or another highly regulated environment is preferred.
Work Environment / Schedule: (as applicable):

Primary shop or lab-type environment working with product, hand tools, shop equipment, and report writing daily. This position follows a 4/10 schedule Monday through Thursday, 7: 00 am - 5:30 pm MTWT
