Job summary

Pace Industries, LLC is seeking a CMM Programmer to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex CMM programs using CAD models, 3D drawings, and PC-DMIS, delivering precise inspection data.

You will perform FAIs, GD&T interpretation, SPC analysis, PPAP support, and cross‑functional communication across engineering and production. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years' hands-on CMM experience and strong Excel/Word reporting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on CMM programming experience.
• Mastery of PC-DMIS software with CAD-based programming.
• Proficient in reading complex engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Familiarity with SPC, control plans and PPAP workflows.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; ability to interact across all plant levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting.

• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure CMM equipment calibration and tool maintenance.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Program Development: Create, optimize, and troubleshoot complex CMM programs using 3D CAD models, part drawings, and geometric specifications.
• Quality Documentation: Conduct detailed First Article Inspections (FAI) and capability studies; compile and present clear, concise data packages to support customer PPAP requirements.
• Precision Measurement: Take critical dimensional measurements utilizing standard precision layout tools, including gauges, fixtures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Data Interpretation: Interpret complex inspection results and statistical data (SPC), communicating variations or deviations clearly to the engineering and production teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate actively in project kick-off meetings to provide quality insight during new product introductions. Manage technical communication regarding layout data for internal and external vendor/customer relations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper operation, calibration tracking, and safety compliance of all CMM equipment and precision measurement tools.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on CMM programming experience, with demonstrated mastery of PC-DMIS software (programming from CAD models is highly preferred).
• Blueprints & GD&T: Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, with a fundamental understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
• Quality Systems: Strong familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, SPC (Statistical Process Control), control plans, and PPAP workflows.
• Communication: Strong command of written and verbal English; ability to interact confidently across all levels of the plant, from production floor associates to corporate leadership.
• Software: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for report generation and data tracking.
