Job summary

American Society of Interior Designers, Inc is seeking a Color Designer – Footwear in Portland, OR, onsite for a 6-month contract. We’re looking for a designer who lives and breathes sneakers.

You will create color designs for footwear products, develop seasonal color stories and palettes, research trends, review samples, finalize color specifications, and manage CAD files and timelines. Collaborate with product teams to ensure consistency and clarity of revisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of color design experience, footwear preferred
• Portfolio with color storytelling and moodboards
• Strong color theory and materials knowledge
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Knowledge of sneaker culture and consumer trends
• Bachelor's degree in Design or related field

What you bring:

• 5+ years of color design experience — footwear preferred (apparel/consumer products considered)
• A portfolio with real color storytelling: moodboards, palettes, and the why behind every choice
• Strong grasp of color theory, color application, materials and finishes
• Fluency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Sneaker culture and consumer trend knowledge, backed by insight data
• Bachelors in design, Color Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design or equivalent experience
