Job summary

The Highlands is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our on-site team in Topsham, ME. The role involves administering medications and providing resident care with emphasis on safety, dignity, and individualized attention.

You will work with a supportive team to ensure quality daily living experiences for residents. Full-time opportunities include second and third shifts (3:00pm–11:00pm and 11:00pm–7:00am); every other weekend is required for FT or option to work every Saturday.

Qualifications

• Must have state-required CMA education/certification and competency checklist.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Be in good physical health; able to lift 40 pounds.
• Drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and as required.

Responsibilities

• Administers or assists with administration of medications per physician order and MAR.
• Document medications administered on MAR per policy; verify MARs during shift.
• Conduct shift handoffs and maintain narcotic security and counts.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor or Wellness Director.
• Use standard precautions and infection control procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of residents' rooms and safety compliance.
