Job summary

Madeira Healthcare Center, part of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is recruiting Certified Medication Assistants (CMA) to provide routine medication administration and personal care for residents.

We offer full-time and part-time positions with daily pay and a comprehensive benefits package. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Nurse Aide Training, and knowledge of medication procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Nurse Aide Training is preferred and must pass state test within 120 days.
• Understanding of medication administration procedures and ability to perform basic math.
• Understanding of resident care procedures and standards; able to make independent decisions when needed.
• Prior healthcare experience is desirable; strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and administer medication per physician orders and state/federal regulations.
• Display knowledge of side effects and nursing implications of common meds.
• Account for controlled drugs each shift and report discrepancies.
• Chart routine medications, omissions, PRN documentation with follow-up.
• Maintain medications inventory and perform rounds with nurse/physician.
• Provide personal care and basic nursing functions as required.
• Create a clean, safe environment and maintain resident documentation.
• Attend training and orientation to maintain certification and improve care quality.
• Adhere to center policies, safety programs, and infection control standards.
