Every time.****JOB SUMMARY**A Clinical Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of patients under the supervision of the physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. Responsible for assisting the physician in providing direct patient care and health teaching designed to meet the age/developmental specific needs of the health care patients. Delivers quality care by offering excellent customer service and participating in a team-centered approach toward patient care. Collaborates with nursing and support staff regarding patient care, holistic care involving patients and families, proficiency in order entry, and provides clerical and patient-related support in the functional areas of record keeping and scheduling. Utilizes knowledge of office policy and procedure, verifies patient demographics, maintains patient records, verifies physician orders, schedules patients for appointments and referrals, prepares patients for examinations, processes patient billing and payments, greets patients and maintains office supplies. Previous experience in phlebotomy and laboratory testing/specimen preparation preferred. Excellent PC skills required.**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS****Education:** Medical Office Assistant Certification and validated Medical Assistant education required.**Experience:** A minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.**Licenses/Certificates:** For CMA: Certificate, credentials, or a Medical Assistant degree requiredFor LPN: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, and medical or employment status of patients of Bradley Medical Center and their families. 2. Follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and the clinic. 3. Participate in Performance Improvement activities. 4. Utilize the nursing process to oversee and provide age-specific patient care. 5. Communicate in an acceptable and easily understood manner.
