Hendrick Medical Center is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patients in utilizing clinical services. The role may be assigned to a specific specialty department, such as orthopedics.

A CMA exam will be funded by Hendrick Clinic, with hours provided if not yet certified. Qualified candidates have a CMA-related credential or active progress toward CMA, and at least one year of recent medical facility experience, including EKG, vital signs, and venipuncture.

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. May be assigned to specific medical specialty department (e.g., orthopedics).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. If not yet a CMA you will receive all hours required for the CMA exam. Hendrick Clinic will cover the fee for the first exam.
• Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant within 26 months of hire
• Must possess a current CPR certification
