Piedmont Athens Regional Physician Services is seeking a Medical Assistant in Georgia to provide patient care under supervision, with front and back office duties. Bilingual Spanish is required to assist our diverse patient base; graduation from a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program is preferred.

The role requires CMA-AAMA certification upon hire and BCLS; candidates with a HS diploma or GED plus related experience are considered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program required.
• In lieu of formal education, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.
• CMA-AAMA certification upon hire required.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire required.
• 1 year of medical office experience required or 2 years if no degree.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include, but are not limited to front office and back office functions.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
