Job summary

South Plains Rural Health Services is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our Lamesa clinic team. This role supports providers in a busy outpatient clinic and delivers compassionate, efficient care to patients.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, recording vital signs, assisting with exams, maintaining exam rooms, and documenting in the EHR while adhering to HIPAA and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• CMA/RMA certification is required (active/certified).
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in a medical office/clinic/healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient information.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with patient care.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.
• Assist with patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Document information in the electronic health record.
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
• Follow infection control, safety, confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
• Perform additional clinical duties within certification and training scope.
