The Clinical staff (CMA, General Clinic CST, or LPN I) are multi-skilled health professionals who work interdependently with other healthcare professionals to provide quality healthcare to the patient. They are trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills. The goal of the clinical staff is to optimize outcomes and improve the quality of life for patients through efficient, cost-effective care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

People:

  • Patient Satisfaction/Responding to Patients: Appropriately schedules time off/Limit unscheduled absences, Respond to telephone inquiries relating to department services, Return patient calls promptly, Notify patient of test results in a timely manner per clinic/department policy, Provide a clean and comfortable environment for patients, Perform all duties in a timely and efficient manner, Schedule follow-ups as needed

Service:

  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and give follow-up injections (if applicable), Greet and verify patient identity, Provide high-level customer service, Accurately obtain and record medical histories, verify all allergies, medications, and vital signs per protocol, Order, collect, and prepare laboratory specimens, Explain treatment procedures, Ensure proper consents are signed, Draw up and/or give injections as ordered by MD

Assist the physician during examinations and procedures as needed, Provide educational materials and aftercare instructions, Supply proper equipment, Apply universal precautions and maintain a sterile field, Clean and dress wounds, Take photographs, Remove staples or sutures, Prepare and administer medications, Respond to prescription requests/refills, Perform delegated clinical functions, Escort patients, Prepare pathology forms, Recognize and respond to emergencies, Document treatments, Answer telephones, Obtain prior authorizations, Manage KPI reports, Maintain task lists, Complete charge tickets, and other duties as assigned.

Post Operative Follow-up: Respond to post-operative patients, Respond to prescription requests/refills, Provide aftercare instructions.

Quality:

Electronic Medical Records & Practice Management Tasks: Accurate documentation, Input charges and notes, E-Fax and call prescriptions.

Maintain rooms, equipment, and supplies: Clean rooms, change linens, dispose of biohazard materials, assist with inventory, sterilize equipment, ensure maintenance, clean counters, follow OSHA guidelines, use PPE, assist with patient mobility.

Finance:

Assist in fiscal management: Maintain supply levels, avoid rush orders, maximize downtime, discuss inventory needs with management.

Growth:

Promote clinic growth: Assist MDs and marketing, seek expansion opportunities, discuss with management.

Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting, Surgical Tech, or Practical Nursing Program
  • Current Certification or Licensure with no restrictions
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Knowledge of infection control, sterile techniques, and safety precautions
  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Knowledge of clinical principles and outcomes measures
  • Effective administrative skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform clinical tasks
