Responsibilities
- Help members achieve their fitness goals and build confidence in equipment use.
- Run the Planet Fitness group fitness program PE@PF and design simple workout programs for all ages and skill levels.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, continually engaging and encouraging members.
- Maintain and conduct minor repairs on equipment to keep it ready for member use.
- Ensure the club and equipment are clean and in compliance with maintenance standards.
- Design individual workout programs suited to members’ fitness levels.
- Recruit new and current members to join fitness classes.
- Promote gym policies and safety practices to ensure a judgement‑free environment.
- Serve as a leader focused on self‑improvement and personal growth; maintain a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist the team at the welcome desk with checking in members, touring, enrollment, and other club responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Current national training certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA).
- Proficiency with fitness equipment and ability to demonstrate its use.
- 1‑3 years of experience in a related field requiring training or education on health and wellness.
- Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
- Studies in kinesiology, exercise science, or an associated field.
- Understanding of physical demands such as standing, walking, stooping, lifting up to 50lbs, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and handling hazardous chemicals.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- English language fluency; bilingual Spanish is helpful.
- Passion for helping others.
