Job summary

Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Lab Tech Coordinator to perform vital clinical laboratory procedures and report data essential for disease diagnosis and treatment.

You will oversee daily lab operations, train personnel, interpret results, participate in audits, and ensure safety and quality across microbiology, hematology, and chemistry disciplines. Bachelor’s in sciences required; CLS:CA preferred; 2 years lab experience.

• Coaches laboratory personnel to train for adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
• Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over operational decisions.
• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
• Participates in laboratory audits and inspections.
• Performs root cause analysis for identified issues and implements corrective actions.
• Generates reports on quality metrics, instrument performance, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborates effectively with laboratory management, medical directors, and other laboratory departments.

As a Lab Tech Coordinator, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.

Every day, you will be using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.

Role

To be successful in this role requires an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Limited License Microbiologist possessing comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understanding sample processing and result interpretation, prioritizing chemical and biological safety, and being adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment. The ideal candidate will be:
