Job summary

AGE Solutions seeks an experienced Systems Engineer specializing in cloud-hosted storage solutions to support a DoD customer. You will manage provisioning, operation, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises storage, ensuring DR readiness and high availability.

Responsibilities include implementing storage arrays, configuring SAN components, and guiding disaster recovery planning while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of overall professional experience in the engineering field, including evaluating, manufacturing, and integrating enterprise storage and backup software technologies.
• Three (3) years of hands-on experience managing hybrid storage infrastructure (Azure cloud and/or AWS).
• Two (2) years hands-on experience with DoD IT systems.
• Two (2) years with enterprise SAN management (Fiber Channel, iSCSI, FCoE, HBA/CNA, LUN, RAID, NAS).
• Hands-on experience with enterprise hierarchical storage system management and backup/restore services (Veritas NetBackup, AWS Backup, Azure Recovery Services).

Responsibilities

• Provisioning, installation/configuration, and maintenance of cloud-focused storage infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and hands-on delivery in planning, implementation, and operations.
• Research and implement innovations for cloud storage; ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Maintain on-premise and cloud storage, DR capabilities, and high availability of critical applications.
• Document configurations, plans, and test results; report storage performance and capacity insights.

AGE Solutions is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with specialization in Cloud-hosted Storage Solutions to support a Department of Defense (DoD) customer.

Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for effective provisioning, operation, installation/configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware/software/related infrastructure with an emphasis on cloud computing technologies.
• Provide technical support, guidance and hands‑on delivery in the planning, implementation, and ongoing operations.
• Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the existing cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure that on‑premise and cloud hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.
• Document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.
• Depict complex ideas, issues, and designs to varied audiences through different reporting and briefing modalities.
• Monitor and report on existing data restore and disaster recovery capabilities for both on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Provide recommendations on process improvement and efficiencies.
• Coordinate/perform/document Disaster Recovery (DR) failovers within cloud environments.
• Ensure high availability and performance expectations of critical enterprise applications/systems operating within the cloud environment.
• Develop, integrate, and oversee storage arrays, fiber switches, and associated components.
• Maintain and oversee data backup solutions to ensure mission objective are met for both on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Research, build, and implement file sharing technologies to meet customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot and advise on advanced storage issues/deficiencies.
• Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance.
• Perform storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components.
• Author/document policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participate in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies.
• Prepare reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize existing storage technologies.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience:
  • Five (5) years of overall professional experience in the engineering field. This includes evaluating, manufacturing, and integrating enterprise-level storage and backup software technologies.
  • Three (3) years of hands‑on experience managing hybrid storage infrastructure (Azure cloud and/or Amazon Web Services).
  • Two (2) years hands‑on experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) IT systems.
  • Two (2) years hands‑on experience with enterprise SAN (Storage Area Network) management to include capabilities and technologies such as: Fiber Channel zoning, iSCSI, FCoE (Fiber Channel over Ethernet) unified fabric, HBA/CNA (Host Bus Adapter/Converged Network Adapter), storage controllers, and LUN (Logical Unit Number), RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), and file sharing / NAS (Network Addressable Storage).
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise hierarchical storage system management; operation of enterprise backup/restore services, using products such as Veritas NetBackup, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Backup, or Microsoft Azure Recovery Services/Site Recovery.
• Certification(s)
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Ex: Security+ CE)
  • Must also have at least one of the following Computing Environment certifications:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • NetApp Certified Hybrid Cloud Administrator
    • NetApp Certified Hybrid Cloud Architect
    • NetApp Certified hybrid Cloud Implementation Engineer
• Clearance:
  • Secret Clearance with an adjudicated IT‑I investigation (Tier 5/SSBI) required.
  • Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Location:
  • This is an onsite position located at a customer site in one of the locations listed below. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of one of the following in order to work onsite:
    • VA: Fort Belvoir, Richmond
    • OH: Columbus, Dayton
    • MI: Battle Creek
    • CA: Tracy
    • UT: Ogden
    • PA: New Cumberland, Philadelphia

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

• Must be able to work in telecommunications closet and office environments.
• Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Compensation: $100,000+
