Job summary

Rang Technologies Inc in Salt Lake City is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to design, secure, and optimize modern cloud environments with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing solutions in a public cloud environment.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
• Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, VPCs, hybrid connectivity, IAM, and cloud security.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.
• Strong knowledge of scalable, distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud databases and data platforms such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or BigQuery.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Strong architecture documentation, communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Develop cloud architecture strategies with a primary focus on GCP, while leveraging AWS or Azure where appropriate.
• Lead legacy-to-cloud migration initiatives and modernization efforts.
• Partner with product owners, developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into architecture and technical roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership around cloud best practices, application hosting, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, integration documentation, and implementation standards.
• Architect cloud database environments, BigQuery data pipelines, APIs, and application integrations.
• Design and support cloud networking, VPCs, hybrid connectivity, IAM, security, and compliance.
• Work with containers and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Support disaster recovery, backup, high availability, performance, and cloud cost optimization initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and identify opportunities to improve architecture and engineering practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development and infrastructure tools to improve provisioning, code maintenance, testing, and operational efficiency.

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to design, secure, and optimize modern cloud environments, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud migration.

This is a hands‑on architecture role for someone who can work across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, networking, databases, and application architecture while providing technical direction to engineering and operations teams.

What You’ll Do

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of overall IT experience, including 3+ years in cloud architecture, DevOps, or technical leadership
• Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect certification
• Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions
• Experience with database administration and migrations
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, or ISO/IEC 27001
• Experience applying AI-assisted tools and workflows to infrastructure and software engineering
