Job summary

Wood Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer, Level 1, at Fort Meade, Maryland. You will build high‑performance cloud software, from requirements to deployment, across distributed data and analytics platforms.

You will work on containerization, API interfaces, data queries, and performance optimizations while collaborating with engineers to meet mission needs. U.S. Citizens with active TS/SCI clearance required.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and four years of cloud domain experience.
Master’s degree may substitute for two years of cloud experience.
Additional four years of cloud domain experience may substitute for eight total years.
Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer, CompTIA Cloud+ (Cloud+), AWS, or Microsoft Azure certifications may substitute for one year of cloud experience.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, integrate and test new features for cloud native services.
Conduct containerization and deployment training with hands-on exercises.
Develop API-based interfaces to support search and presentation of operational data.
Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
Debug existing software and fix defects.
Provide recommendations to improve documentation and development processes.
Design and code new software to add features and modify existing systems.
Integrate existing software into new systems and environments.
Develop queries for databases and data repositories.
