Job summary

Peterson Technologies is seeking a cloud software engineer to advance research, development, and engineering services across requirements, implementation, integration, evaluation, and sustainment of cloud applications.

Candidates should have extensive Java/C/C++ experience, Map/Reduce with Hadoop, HDFS, NoSQL ecosystems, and Restful services. Willingness to work in Maryland with TS/SCI clearance is required; a competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years with Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive and/or Pig in the last 3 years.
• 3+ years with HDFS in the last 3 years.
• 5+ years programming in Java, C and/or C++ (two languages) in the last 7 years.
• 3+ years designing/developing apps in Windows or UNIX/Linux environments.
• 3+ years with OpenSource NoSQL (HBase, CloudBase/Accumulo, BigTable).
• 1+ year in requirements analysis and OO design.
• Demonstrated experience developing Restful services.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; substitutions allowed as described.

Responsibilities

• Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services across the project lifecycle.
• Analyze requirements, design, implement, test, and sustain applications; diagnose issues.
• Develop Restful services and work with distributed NoSQL databases.

Job description

Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services to include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution.

Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with Map/Reduce and/or Hadoop, Hive, and/or Pig. Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification. Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of five (5) years experience programming with at least two (2) of the following languages: Java, C, and/or C++. Within the last five (5) years, a minimum of three (3) years of experience designing and developing applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux operating environment. Within the last five (5) years, a minimum of three (3) years experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, CloudBase/Accumulo, and/or Big Table. Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with requirements analysis and design for one (1) or more object-oriented systems. Demonstrated experience developing Restful services. A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; an associate's degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years programming experience or five (5) years programming experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
