Job summary

IBM Software is seeking a Cloud Subject Matter Expert to enhance client experiences by leading design and troubleshooting for Kafka and Confluent Cloud platforms. You will guide data streaming architecture, production readiness, and governance while collaborating with platform, application, and SRE teams.

You will deliver hands-on architecture reviews, technical workshops, and reusable patterns to promote customer self-sufficiency and minimize business impact.

Qualifications

• Leadership as an authority or design advisor for enterprise Kafka/Confluent Cloud platforms.
• Analytical troubleshooting across distributed systems and client IT environments.
• Design/review of event-driven architectures and guidance on production readiness and change management.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Creation and reuse of knowledge assets to promote client self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical authority and design advisor for Kafka/Confluent Cloud platforms across teams.
• Advise on data streaming architectures and production readiness to maximize business value.
• Design/review event-driven architectures including topic design and data contracts.
• Identify and resolve operational issues; contribute to runbooks and change management.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis; contribute to reusable patterns.
• Deliver architecture reviews and workshops to promote customer self-sufficiency.
