Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; familiarity with containerization and cloud networking.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, documenting, and implementing security best practices across our cloud infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with DevOps teams to develop automation tools that support secure Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) processes, ensuring that software development remains agile while maintaining rigorous security standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, and possess a deep understanding of cloud security principles and practices. Your expertise will help safeguard our cloud environments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement proactive security measures to protect our organization from emerging threats.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of five years of professional experience in IT, including software engineering, DevOps, or system engineering, is required. Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of security concepts such as SAST, DAST, RBAC, secrets management, network security, and the CIA triad. Experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential, along with familiarity with containerization, container orchestration, and cloud networking technologies. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages used in cloud environments, as well as automation tools for build and deployment, is highly desirable. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently or within a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive the adoption and integration of enterprise security processes and disciplines into cloud environments, including risk management, vulnerability assessment, secure application development, and identity management.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud configuration, deployment, and security best practices to internal teams, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
• Analyze cloud platform vulnerabilities, recommend mitigation strategies, and oversee their resolution to maintain a secure environment.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated security solutions supporting CI/CD pipelines, ensuring secure software delivery cycles.
• Stay informed about the evolving threat landscape related to cloud security and adapt security strategies accordingly to mitigate potential risks.
• Conduct security risk assessments for new cloud technologies and tools, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate safeguards.
• Perform internal penetration testing on new or updated software solutions and coordinate external assessments such as web application penetration tests.
• Offer cloud architecture guidance with a focus on security, collaborating with software engineers to embed security into development practices.
• Develop, maintain, and promote secure coding standards, configuration protocols, and best practices across the organization.
• Coordinate with various internal teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of cloud infrastructure and software development.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the organization's security objectives.
