Job summary

Akamai Cloud Technology Group Compute division, now Akamai Cloud, seeks a Manager Engineering to lead a high‑performing team building the Kubernetes Product Platform on our cloud‑native stack in Austin.

You will partner with product management to shape the strategic roadmap, drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and manage delivery in an Agile environment while upholding security and reliability across production services.

Qualifications

• 8 years of software development experience with leadership or management.
• Leadership in Cloud Native Platform Engineering and operational efficiency.
• Experience leading teams building and operating highly available production services with Kubernetes.
• Strong foundation in containerization, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
• Proven ability to apply CI/CD best practices.

Responsibilities

• Leading and growing a team of engineers building the cloud-native platform on Kubernetes.
• Partnering with product management and leadership to shape the roadmap and milestones.
