The Cloud Platform Engineer I at Centene Corporation contributes to designing, developing, and operationalizing AI-enabled applications and cloud infrastructure. You will work with software engineers, AI engineers, and product teams to integrate AI capabilities into enterprise solutions and automate deployment with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

Role targets early-career engineers with strong fundamentals in cloud tech, Python, ML, and LLMs; opportunities span both production and prototype

Qualifikationen

• 0-2 years of experience with Python through coursework, internships, research, or projects.
• Understanding of software engineering concepts including APIs, data structures, algorithms, databases, and version control.
• Understanding of ML, Generative AI, and LLM platforms and APIs.
• Experience building at least one AI/ML application or project through coursework, internships, hackathons, research, or open-source contributions.
• Integrate AI models and services into applications using REST APIs, SDKs, and microservices.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub or GitLab.

• Design, build, and deploy cloud apps including data processing and analytics.
• Deliver CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tooling across cloud environments.

The Cloud Platform Engineer I is a position for a motivated developer who will be joining our engineering team and help design, develop, and operationalize AI-enabled applications and solutions. This role is ideal for an early-career software engineer who has strong programming fundamentals and practical exposure to Cloud technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), and machine learning through academic work, internships, personal projects, or professional experience. The successful candidate will work alongside software engineers, AI engineers, architects, and product teams to incorporate AI capabilities into enterprise applications, developer workflows, and business processes.

• Ensures security of cloud components, review reported vulnerabilities and remediate within SLA.

• Delivers continuous integration and delivery pipeline and standards by enabling common DevSecOps tooling in cloud environment and providing development teams with the ability to execute builds, run tests, and deploy in automated fashion
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 0 – 2 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. Or completion of a Centene-sponsored emerging talent program.

Technical Skills

• 0-2 years experience with Python through coursework, internships, research, professional work, or personal projects.
• Understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts, including APIs, data structures, algorithms, databases, and version control.
• Understanding of Machine Learning, Generative AI, and LLM platforms and APIs.
• Experience building at least one AI/ML application or project through coursework, internships, hackathons, research, or independent development/ open-source contributions.
• Integrate AI models and services into applications using REST APIs, SDKs, and microservices.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub or GitLab.

Pay Range: $30.58 - $55.09 per hour
