Job summary

Avaya seeks a Platform Engineer to design, build, and automate scalable cloud platforms. You will work with engineering and cloud operations to improve reliability, enable secure deployments, and support scalable services.

You will work with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible, applying GitOps, CI/CD, and automation best practices to empower teams and reduce oper­ational complexity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in platform engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or related software roles.
• A solid understanding of cloud technologies and scalable architectures.
• Automation scripting with Python, Bash, Ansible, or Groovy.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or Travis CI.
• Knowledge of GitOps and infrastructure as code practices.
• Networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platform solutions using modern architecture principles and infrastructure automation.
• Infrastructure as Code and automation to improve platform consistency and efficiency.
• Containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes for reliable deployments.
• CI/CD and GitOps: develop and optimize pipelines with Jenkins and GitOps practices.
• Platform reliability and performance: monitor health, performance, and resilience.
• Cloud operations collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Security and risk management across platforms and data.
• Troubleshooting and continuous improvement of platform services.
• Documentation of architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Stay current with cloud-native technologies and DevOps trends.
