Job summary

Prolific is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join the Platform team. You will deepen Prolific’s cloud foundation, ensuring scalable, reliable infrastructure and implementing automation to reduce complexity, while guiding internal teams on best practices.

The role focuses on Kubernetes in GKE, Terraform-driven provisioning, and close collaboration with Prolificos across projects. A modern cloud platform mindset and strong DevOps culture are essential.

• Create and maintain infrastructure solutions that enable safe, easy, and efficient deployment.
• Serve as the technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes queries to Prolific teams.
• Be part of the rolling on-call rota.

Cloud Platform Engineer

The role

Our Cloud Platform team empowers developers to build and deploy their applications swiftly, securely, and seamlessly. As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll be deep in Prolific’s technical foundation, ensuring our infrastructure remains scalable, reliable, and ready for growth. You’ll implement automation strategies that reduce complexity, champion best practices, and serve as a trusted technical expert to teams across Prolific.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Extensive experience administering and optimising large-scale Kubernetes clusters
• Strong experience with Kubernetes tooling, such as Helm and kustomize
• Strong experience with GitOps tooling and methodologies, such as ArgoCD
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture
• Strong knowledge in GKE and Kubernetes, including maintenance and optimisation of production clusters
• Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
• Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript
• Experience creating developer-focused documentation and self-service solutions that enable teams to easily self-serve
• Strong customer empathy, with a focus on supporting the needs of internal teams (our Prolificos)

What you’ll be doing in the role

• Manage and optimise our Kubernetes clusters in GKE through Terraform
• Support our compliance with SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials standards in our cloud environmentsDesign and implement golden paths and automation strategies that empower developers to self-serve while reducing operational complexity
• Create and maintain infrastructure solutions that allow development teams to build and deploy safely, easily, and efficiently
• Serve as the technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes-related queries, providing expertise to other Prolificos
• Be a part of our rolling on-call rota

Even better if you have

• We’re a multi-cloud team - experience with AWS and CDK is a big plus.
• Experience implementing/maintaining cloud compliance standards (SOC2, ISO-27001)
• Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog
• Background in implementing security best practices in cloud infrastructure
