Job summary

Hydrogen Group in Oakland, CA is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and run AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, security, and production operations across AWS services such as EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, and API Gateway.

You will implement IaC with Terraform and maintain CI/CD pipelines, while collaborating with development teams to optimize deployments and reduce toil.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience with EKS, ECS, Lambda, IAM, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud security, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong production support experience.

Responsibilities

Cloud Platform Engineer Oakland, CA (Hybrid) Duration: initial 6-month contract Pay: $73-78/hr

We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer who will be responsible for cloud infrastructure management, CI/CD automation, platform reliability, security compliance, and production operations within AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Manage and optimize EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and related AWS services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Terraform.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate operational processes.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support.
• Drive vulnerability remediation, security compliance, and platform upgrades.

Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with Couchbase and cloud-native microservices architectures.
• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or related certifications.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
