Q2 is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering organization. As part of the Azure‑focused cloud engineering team, you will help build, operate, and improve secure, reliable cloud infrastructure and platform services that support business‑critical applications. Our team collaborates closely with application engineering, DevOps, security, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable cloud environments, improve developer productivity, and strengthen the reliability, observability, and operational maturity of our platforms across Azure and AWS.
Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services with Azure as the primary cloud platform. Support AWS‑based infrastructure and multi‑cloud initiatives; candidates with limited AWS experience should be willing to learn and build proficiency. Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform to improve consistency, repeatability, and operational efficiency. Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot containerized workloads and platform services using Kubernetes, with hands‑on experience in AKS and/or EKS strongly valued. Partner with development and DevOps teams to integrate cloud infrastructure, platform services, and automation into CI/CD workflows. Monitor production environments, troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues, and participate in incident response to minimize downtime and improve service reliability. Develop automation using scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell to reduce manual work and improve operational consistency. Implement observability practices, including monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and tracing, to improve platform visibility and operational response. Support cloud security, compliance, vulnerability remediation, backup, disaster recovery, and governance practices in partnership with security and infrastructure teams. Contribute to reliability improvements, capacity planning, cost optimization, documentation, and continuous improvement of platform engineering practices.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Hands‑on experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or Infrastructure Engineering. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and platform engineering practices. Experience with AWS cloud services is preferred; candidates without deep AWS experience should be open to learning and supporting AWS environments. Proficient with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools, especially Terraform and modern CI/CD workflows. Experience running or supporting production workloads in Kubernetes and Docker, including hands‑on work with managed Kubernetes platforms such as AKS and/or EKS. Understanding of cloud networking concepts such as virtual networks/VPCs, DNS, routing, load balancing, private connectivity, firewalls, and security groups/network security groups. Experience with identity, access management, secrets management, encryption, and least‑privilege cloud security practices. Proficient with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell. Experience with observability tools and cloud monitoring best practices, such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana. Strong troubleshooting, incident response, documentation, collaboration, and communication skills in production cloud environments. Familiarity with FinOps, cloud cost optimization, disaster recovery, backup and compliance practices is preferred. This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Q2’s mission is to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. That mission shapes the technology we build, how we serve our customers, and how we show up for each other.
We started with a straightforward belief: technology could fundamentally change how financial institutions serve their communities. More than 20 years later, that belief still drives us. Q2 delivers digital banking and lending solutions that help financial institutions deepen relationships, improve experiences, and grow. Across every department and region, Q2 team members bring creativity, collaboration, and purpose to building technology that makes banking stronger, easier, and more human.
Q2’s culture is built by Q2ers and grounded in ten guiding principles that define how we show up for each other, our customers, and our communities. We take our mission seriously. We also have fun doing it. Teams across the company work together to solve hard problems, move quickly, and make a real impact on the financial institutions and communities we serve. We’re also helping shape how AI is applied in financial services, bringing the same disciplined, banking‑first approach Q2 has practiced for more than 20 years to this next chapter of innovation.
