Job summary

Momentum Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Cloud System Administrator to sustain a cloud platform built with Java and OSS tools. The role covers day-to-day operations, Tier 1–3 support, and proactive issue resolution in a Linux, Red Hat/CentOS environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in Red Hat/Linux, DNS/DHCP experience, and DoD 8570 IAT Level I (Security+). Expect collaboration with developers and mission users to maintain secure, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph.
• 7+ years Red Hat/CentOS administration from the command line.
• 7+ years Linux/Unix networking with tools like nmap, tcpdump, firewalls.
• 7+ years Red Hat/CentOS kickstart and provisioning experience.
• 2+ years DNS administration (DNS, hosts, DHCP).
• Strong troubleshooting in Linux environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, CS, IS, or related field.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification or higher (Security+ preferred).
• Certifications in cloud and 8570-compliant areas will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and platform services.
• Provide Tier 1–3 technical support for operational issues.
• Troubleshoot Linux/Unix hardware, software, networking, and applications.
• Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
• Manage Red Hat/CentOS systems via CLI and kickstart.
• DNS provisioning and DHCP configuration support.
• Support Kubernetes, Hadoop, and OpenStack environments.
• Develop automation scripts in Python or Bash.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve issues and ensure stability.
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analyses.
