Job summary

Alkira, a Lumen company, seeks a Software Engineer with Control/Routing expertise to build software for the CSX platform. You will design, implement, and debug networking features and own features end-to-end.

The role requires Go and C, Linux networking fundamentals, and experience with BGP and open-source routing stacks. You will collaborate with distributed teams across the US and India from the San Jose, CA office.

Qualifications

• B.S. or equivalent in EE or CS with at least 2 years in networking or routing software development.
• Strong Go (primary) and C programming experience for control-plane and routing stack work.
• Solid understanding of IP routing; knowledge of BGP is a plus and experience with FRR/ZebOS preferred.
• Excellent Linux networking fundamentals and routing tooling experience.
• Experience designing and implementing multithreaded systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in debugging and root-cause analysis; familiarity with AI-assisted tooling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for Alkira's CSX platform, designing and implementing networking features.
• Take ownership of features from design through defect resolution and release.
• Collaborate with PLM/Sales and distributed team members across US and India to deliver reliable control-plane software.
