Job summary

Absolutelabs in the United States is seeking an experienced cloud software engineer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform.

You will build serverless applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs, while ensuring security, testing, and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience, including strong GCP focus.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
• Hands-on serverless development with Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices using API Gateway or Apigee.
• Strong experience with GCP data services such as Cloud SQL, Firestore, Spanner, and BigQuery.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub and Eventarc.
• Experience with containers (Docker, GKE, Cloud Run) and API security (OAuth2/JWT, IAM, Identity Platform).
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools such as Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Strong testing, debugging, and performance-optimisation skills, with experience in unit and integration testing frameworks.
• GCP certification (Professional Cloud Developer or equivalent) is preferred; excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native apps and microservices on GCP.
• Build serverless apps using Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and App Engine.
• Develop event-driven services with Pub/Sub and Eventarc.
• Write clean, tested code in Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
• Design data models with Cloud SQL, Firestore, and Spanner.
• Containerise and deploy microservices using Docker, Cloud Run, and GKE.
• Implement authentication and authorization (Identity Platform, OAuth2/JWT, IAM) and secret management.
• Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps; integrate CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build or GitHub Actions).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise performance, scalability, and cost; mentor junior developers.
