Job summary

Koch is seeking a Software Architect to provide technical leadership for our Short Code Registry platform. Lead architecture across cloud-native apps and embedded analytics, partnering with product and engineering to modernize capabilities and ensure reliability.

The role emphasizes scalable full-stack design, Terraform automation, and secure, maintainable APIs. Compensation ranges from $145,000 to $180,000 annually with potential variable pay; based in the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience designing web applications with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience building APIs with Node.js and NestJS.
• Proficient PostgreSQL database design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• AWS expertise across multiple services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, IAM, Cognito, QuickSight).
• Led the technical direction for at least one production software application.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Lead design and delivery of scalable full-stack solutions with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.
• Architect APIs, integrations, and service patterns for secure, maintainable, and extensible solutions.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL data models, indexing strategies, and performance tuning approaches.
• Establish cloud architecture standards across AWS services (RDS, Lambda, S3, IAM, Cognito, QuickSight).
• Architect and deliver embedded analytics solutions using AWS QuickSight, including dashboards and data modeling.
• Drive architecture reviews, technology decisions, and engineering standards related to scalability and observability.
• Partner with product, business, and engineering stakeholders to translate objectives into technical roadmaps.
• Champion Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines with Terraform.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership throughout the lifecycle.
