Job summary

VALIANT TECHNOLOGIES LLC in Los Angeles is seeking a Software Migration Specialist to lead discovery, assess current infrastructure, and design migration strategies for complex workloads.

You will deploy migration tooling, automate workflows with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines, and train staff while ensuring a smooth, secure transition across compute, storage, and networks.

Qualifications

• Experience gathering requirements and converting to architecture/design documents (e.g., high-level designs, system diagrams).
• Ability to integrate with current District technology tools for patch management, security and monitoring.
• Experience with gap analysis and documenting current/future state.
• Direct experience deploying enterprise-grade cloud migration solutions.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and consensus-building skills.
• Experience in multi-project/program environments.
• BS/BA in IT or related discipline.
• Experience with public sector/education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery and assessment of current infrastructure (compute, storage, network, applications).
• Develop migration strategy, including inventory, wave planning, and cost analysis.
• Design and deploy cloud landing zone architecture.
• Implement migration tooling and automation (e.g., Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines).
• Support network environment transition and changes.
• Execute migration in phases (rehost, replatform, refactor as needed).
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to staff.
• Post-migration stabilization and support for ongoing operations.

Software Requirements

• Migration of virtual machines and databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and workloads.
• Support for Windows and Linux.
• Real-time visibility into performance and security posture.
• Integration with existing IT management tools and workflows.
• End-to-end transaction tracing, diagnostics, and topology visualization.
• Proactive alerting, analytics, and reporting.
• Security and compliance features (IAM, encryption, audit logging).
