Job summary

Google Cloud Platform team is hiring to design and deliver HPC solutions at scale, enabling customers to run demanding workloads securely and reliably in Google Cloud. The role emphasizes infrastructure-as-code, automation, and deep integration with GCP APIs and tools like GKE.

You will work with distributed systems, optimize performance end-to-end, and apply AI insights across health-care, finance, or manufacturing domains. Public sector security/compliance familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of software development experience in C++, Python, Java or similar.
• 6 years HPC system architecture and applications experience.
• 6 years testing, launching software products, and with software design/architecture.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Understand customers' computing goals and generalize into repeatable cloud patterns.
• Implement HPC solutions as infrastructure-as-code and deployment tooling.
• Collaborate with technical leads, product managers, and partner service engineers to deliver high-quality features.
• Serve as a technical advisor and troubleshoot tests for customers.
• Provide remote and on-site support for deployment of new cloud capacity and technologies.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in software development in C++, Python, Java or similar.
• 6 years of experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) system architecture and applications.
• 6 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and with software design and architecture.
• Must possess an active Secret security clearance.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in delivering solutions that meet public sector security and compliance requirements such as FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, or Risk Management Framework.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

In this role, you will define and implement reference systems and use-case-focused HPC solutions. You will do this through a combination of infrastructure-as-code and automation modules that integrate with various (GCP) APIs and tools, such as Google’s cluster toolkit. You will be working with distributed systems and will understand how to extract performance across the stack (from hardware architecture to application). You will apply computational experience in health-care or life science, financial services industry, or manufacturing, including an understanding of AI.

• Understand our customers current and future computing goals and generalize them into repeatable usage patterns and adequate cloud architecture.
• Implement specific HPC solutions as infrastructure-as-code and necessary deployment tooling functionality.
• Work closely with technical leads, product managers and partner service engineering teams to get high-quality features through the software project life-cycle.
• Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical tests for customers.
• Provide both remote and on-site support for the deployment of new cloud capacity and technologies.
