Job summary

Inherent Technologies, Inc. seeks a Cloud Engineer with OpenShift to join our Dallas onsite team for a 1-year engagement. You will design, deploy, and operate OpenShift infrastructure, support migrations to our Platform-as-a-Service, and help automate deployment and release pipelines.

The role requires hands-on experience with OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux (RHEL), Java/JBoss, Nginx, and CI/CD tools, plus a proactive, team‑oriented approach to DevOps and incident response.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working with RedHat OpenShift Infrastructure design, deployment and operational support.
• OCP 4.6 thru "versionLatestStable"
• Extensive knowledge of Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures.
• Min 2+ years' experience working with RedHat Enterprise Linux operating system
• Experience with Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures; migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads
• Demonstrated skill in configuration management/scripting (Ansible/Chef/Puppet/Python)
• Provisioning multi-node HA clusters including monitoring, performance testing, and application deployment
• Experience with automated deployment tools
• Hands-on DevOps with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, or substitutes
• Strong analytic and multi-tasking abilities; documenting and training team members
• Networking knowledge: protocols, firewalls, load balancers
• Willingness to document, share knowledge and train others
• Familiar with latest versioning semantics

Preferred

• Experience with VMware technologies such as vCenter, vRA and vRO and experience running OpenShift on bare metal
• Working knowledge of SSL certificate management
• Experience with Agile teams, tools, practices & ceremonies (kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.)
• Keeps abreast of relevant industry leading standards and emerging technologies
• Container and Pod level Monitoring and Logging: Dynatrace, QRadar
• Experience working with IBM Cloud and/or AWS.
