Amentum seeks a Cloud Engineer at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, to design, implement, and sustain cloud environments for the Missile Defense Space Center. You will work with AWS GovCloud, Azure US Government, and on-prem components to enable secure, scalable workloads supporting national defense missions.

Description of Duties

Join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of missile defense! As a Cloud Engineer supporting the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) organization within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). You will be at the forefront in the development and implementation of innovative solutions for critical elements supporting advanced sensing capabilities. You will be instrumental in ensuring efficient, sustainable, and secure command and control of our nation's space-based defense capabilities. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain cloud environments for the Missile Defense Space Center.
• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures (VCF 9.0, AWS GovCloud, Azure for US Government) for enterprise workloads.
• Implement cloud-based solutions across IT problem space, including compute, storage, networking, software development, and DevSecOps
• Work with system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions.
• Leverage strong communication and collaboration skills to ensure integration and compliance across cybersecurity, DevSecOps, sustainment, and application delivery teams.
• Develop and implement automation to expand the platform's self-service consumption model, enabling faster and more efficient resource provisioning for consumers.

Basic Requirements

• Must have 1, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
• May be reduced with completion of advanced education
• Must have 1, or more, years of directly related experience in cloud engineering related roles
• Must have an understand principals supporting Cloud infrastructure components including compute, network, and storage
• Must be familiar with Kubernetes and containerization
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform
• Must have experience in a Linux computing environment
• Must have an understanding of compute, networking, storage, and DevSecOps
• Must meet DoD 8570 certification requirements (e.g. Sec+) within 60 days of hire
• Must have an active DoW Secret (or higher) Security Clearance

Desired Requirements

• Be able to obtain/maintain a DoW Top Secret Security Clearance w/ SCI eligibility
• Have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• Have 1, or more, Cloud certifications (e.g, VMware Certified Professional - VCF Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
• Have experience with continuous delivery tools (VCFA Blueprints, GitLab, ArgoCD, etc.)
• Have experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal cloud initiatives
• Have experience with model-based system engineering models and tools
• Have experience working in an agile environment
• Have experience administering a Linux environment (e.g. RHEL 9.x)
• Have experience writing and executing with automation tools
• Have experience with scripting languages (e.g. YAML, Python, Bash)

Compensation Details

$100,000 – $140,000
