Qualifications

• Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio service mesh.

The ideal candidate will be a problem‑solver with a good background in cloud‑native technologies, automation, and security, with a specific focus on the AWS ecosystem. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence and high availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage robust cloud infrastructure primarily using AWS services.
• Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain end‑to‑end automation pipelines using Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Shell scripting to streamline infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
• Networking & Connectivity: Configure and manage advanced networking solutions, including AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) and Direct Connect, to ensure secure and efficient hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Administer and support containerized workloads on Amazon EKS, and leverage Istio for service mesh functionalities like traffic management and security.
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement and manage monitoring solutions using tools like Amazon CloudWatch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to ensure proactive alerting and system health.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices, perform vulnerability remediation and patching, and utilize services like AWS Security Hub and GuardDuty to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including development and operations, to understand requirements and deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Scripting & Development: Write and maintain scripts and tooling using Python to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• AWS Expertise Good hands‑on experience with core AWS services, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Route53, EKS, SSO, and MSK.
• Networking Proven experience with advanced AWS networking concepts, particularly Transit Gateway (TGW) and Direct Connect.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Proficient in Terraform for managing infrastructure.
• CI/CD Experience with GitLab CI/CD for building and deploying pipelines.
• Containerization Solid understanding of Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio service mesh.
• Scripting Hands‑on experience with Python and Shell scripting.
• Monitoring Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Security Experience with patching, vulnerability remediation, and AWS security tools like Security Hub and GuardDuty.
