Job summary

Western & Southern Financial Group is seeking a Cloud/Infrastructure lead to serve as the point of contact for Cloud projects and questions. You will develop designs for cloud-based infrastructure with peers across teams to meet business needs and ensure security standards.

You will monitor emerging cloud trends, evaluate new technologies, mentor colleagues, and drive SDLC processes from research to implementation while maintaining project schedules and security compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in information security, CS, or IT.
• 5+ years IT experience including 2 years cloud support (IaaS/Paas/SaaS).
• Experience with Azure, Entra, Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive).
• Experience with multiple cloud vendors.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• MCSE equivalent in Azure/M365 preferred.

Overview

A Brief OverviewServe as point of contact for Cloud/infrastructure-related projects, questions, and issues. Develops the designs of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions working alongside peers in other teams (e.g. Web, Database, Storage, Networking, IAM, Information Security) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are presented. Collaborates with Information Security to ensure that the proposed infrastructure solution complies with our Cloud security standards.

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Monitors new developments in emerging Cloud technology trends. Identifies new products with potential benefit to W&SFG and conducts in-depth research and analysis of these products.
• Demonstrates the applicability of tools in real-world applications. Investigates their potential use within W&SFG and recommends the adoption of new technologies/methodologies when appropriate.
• Develops standards/guidelines that influence implementation of new technologies throughout W&SFG development staff.
• Engages in the SDLC of new systems and technologies and/or major system improvements. Frequently handles or directs projects, from research to implementation.
• Assists programmers and peers in becoming productive with new tools and techniques, through formal training, one-on-one mentoring and problem-solving assistance.
• Provides collaborative support to development projects by resolving complex problems.
• Ensures the feasibility of proposed projects and evaluates new software packages in terms of cost, resources, system capability, and other attributes.
• Engages with vendors and third parties to develop new platforms and implement improvements.
• Develops the standards for disaster and recovery, partners with Information Security to develop and implement security controls.
• Ensures projects remain on track with approved schedules.
• Develops SLA standards both internally and externally.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in information security, computer science, or information technology or commensurate selection criteria experience. - Preferred
• Typically, 5+ years of professional IT experience including two years of cloud support experience with IAAS, PAAS and SAAS - Required
• In-depth experience in the design, implementation and support of technologies such as: Azure Subscriptions, DevOps/GitHub, Azure Reporting, Entra (Azure AD), Office 365 tenant including Teams and Sharepoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, eDiscovery \ Compliance Management, Entra Connect, Permissions (Tenant \ Security & Compliance \ Exchange \ Exchange Online), Infrastructure deployment and maintenance, User Management groups and GPOs - Preferred
• Experience with multiple cloud vendors. - Preferred
• Demonstrated ability to function on application and technical projects with little or no supervision. - Required
• Demonstrated adaptability when required to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change. - Required
• Demonstrated experience setting goals and successfully implementing and achieving goals, seeking to improve business and technical processes. - Required

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Equivalent in Azure/M365 - Preferred

Work Setting/Position Demands:

• Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
• Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
