Reporting to the Manager of Cloud Engineering, the Cloud Engineer II is responsible for enterprise level design and expert level knowledge of Brown University Health’s complex Public and Private cloud infrastructures and components. The role focuses on engineering solutions that encompass performance, security, scalability, best practice, automation, and orchestration. The Engineer II is responsible for performance and maintenance on all cloud related infrastructure within Brown University Health. The role also provides support for platform specific Infrastructure projects as assigned. High School Diploma Required. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred. Relevant certification in one of the major Cloud platforms is required. Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
7+ years of industry experience required, with a preference toward large enterprise environments. Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities. Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, automation tools, and security best practices.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
