The FinOps Engineer owns cloud cost visibility, allocation, and optimization across GuideWell's cloud estate as the company migrates to the cloud and builds its cloud financial management practice at the same time. This role designs the tagging and cost allocation model, builds showback and forecasting, manages Savings Plan and Reserved Instance coverage, and drives optimization work such as rightsizing and idle resource cleanup. The engineer partners with engineering teams to build cost efficiency into how workloads are designed and embeds cost checks into provisioning and CI/CD. This is a hands‑on role that combines cloud infrastructure and Terraform technical depth with financial analysis and translates findings for finance and executive audiences.
