Job summary

Government Services, LLC is seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support a large federal agency. The role emphasizes designing flexible, scalable cloud solutions with strong security controls and creating essential documentation for engineering, security, and operations.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in designing and deploying distributed apps with AWS, plus experience with lift-and-shift migrations and cloud architectures. Department: Information Technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 4–7 years of IT experience supporting federal government agencies.
  • 4+ years designing/implementing highly distributed applications for availability and reliability.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with architectural design.
  • Experience delivering large-scale cloud solutions to production state.
  • Familiarity with lift-and-shift migrations and cloud migration methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design cloud solutions with maximum flexibility, scalability, and security controls.
  • Develop documentation to support engineering, security, and operational processes.
  • Conduct business/technical analysis to aid customer decision-making.
  • Facilitate transition of solutions to operations while maintaining operating boundaries.

Cloud Engineer (AWS) – Full‑Time, Experienced. Department: Information Technology.

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) responsible for supporting the development of all required documentation to support engineering, security, and operational processes for a large federal agency.

Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Design solutions that ensure maximum flexibility and scalability while meeting all required security controls.
  • Support the development of all required documentation for engineering, security, and operational processes.
  • Perform business and technical alternative analysis for any/all aspects of the solution, aiding the customer in decision‑making.
  • Facilitate the transition of the solution to operations, ensuring the system remains within expected operating boundaries.
  • Strong grasp of cloud computing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS fundamentals with experience designing and implementing solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 4-7 years of professional IT experience supporting federal government agencies.
  • 4+ years of design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications demonstrating strong architectural skills to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS (required) or other cloud services reinforced with architectural design experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering large‑scale solutions that have advanced to the production state.
  • Strong grasp of cloud computing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS fundamentals with experience designing and implementing solutions; develop cloud‑based solution designs and implementation plans based on customer needs.
  • Familiarity with lift‑and‑shift migrations and migration methodologies for cloud migration.
  • Experience in cloud computing, networking, storage, and identity management; AWS Certification or Cloud Architect Certification (or desire to obtain certification).
