Overview

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the IT Services and Support (ITSS) requirements for the U.S. Army Product Lead Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Enterprise Systems and Services (PL ALTESS) requirement, in support of the Program Executive Office Enterprise (PEO Enterprise) in Radford, VA. The Cloud Engineer will support the ALTESS commercial cloud services infrastructure. ALTESS is a managed service provider for Army and DoD IT systems and plans to offer managed cloud services in public clouds, MS Azure, AWS and Private Clouds.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and verify, before applying, that you meet the minimum requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Support the ALTESS commercial cloud services infrastructure.
• Assist in offering and managing cloud services in public clouds (Azure, AWS) and private clouds.
• Provide expertise in IPSEC/VPN, secure transport technologies, and Border Gateway Protocol.
• Proven experience migrating on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Understand network, storage, server, and application technologies; participate in automation initiatives using scripting and automation tools.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, AWS CodeDeploy, Travis CI).
• Manage multiple large-scale projects; communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience in Computer Science or IT.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IA cert and related certifications (e.g., MCSD Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Mid to senior level Cloud Engineer experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience automating routine administrative tasks is desired.
• Strong experience with IPSEC/VPN and other secure transport technologies; knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol.
• Experience migrating on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Working knowledge of code repositories (Git) and DoD STIGs and IAVM.
• Cloud automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, Travis CI, AWS CodeDeploy).

Desired Qualifications

• Senior IT experience in networking or equivalent.
