Job summary

Genesis10 is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a 10+ month contract in Plano, TX, to design, develop, test, implement, and support cloud, DevOps, and full-stack solutions. You will collaborate with Agile teams on Python-based microservices, batch jobs, and cloud-native integrations, ensuring secure connectivity and operational readiness.

This role emphasizes automation, CI/CD, and production support using AWS services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of application development experience in Python, Scala, or similar language.
• 6+ years SQL relational database experience.
• 5+ years AWS cloud platform experience.
• 5+ years DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and production support.
• 4+ years IaC/automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• 4+ years Snowflake or similar data warehousing experience.
• 4+ years UNIX/Linux, including shell scripting.
• 5+ years Agile engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support cloud, DevOps, and full-stack solutions.
• Support Python-based microservices, batch jobs, and cloud-native integrations.
• Integrate SaaS and third-party platforms into the ecosystem with secure connectivity and monitoring.

Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer for a contract position with a Major Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 10+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves collaborating with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using cloud, DevOps, and full-stack development tools. The ideal candidate will work with a team of developers supporting multiple Python-based microservices, batch jobs, and cloud-native integrations, while also integrating SaaS products and third-party platforms into the client's ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using cloud, DevOps, and full-stack development tools and technologies
• Work with a team of developers supporting multiple Python-based microservices, batch jobs, and cloud-native integrations
• Integrate SaaS products and third-party platforms into the client's ecosystem, ensuring secure connectivity, identity integration, monitoring, and operational readiness
• Design and implement automation to streamline provisioning, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and ongoing platform support
• Utilize Python, SQL, open-source RDBMS, and cloud-based data warehousing services such as Snowflake
• Use AWS services such as ECS, EMR, S3, RDS, Athena, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and related cloud infrastructure capabilities
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated deployments, and environment management processes
• Apply extensive DevOps practices including automation, observability, reliability engineering, release management, and production support
• Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews with other team members to ensure solutions are rigorously designed, securely implemented, effectively automated, and tuned for performance

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in application development using Python, Scala, or similar programming languages
• 6+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL
• 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud platforms and services
• 5+ years of experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and production support
• 4+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar
• 4+ years of data warehousing experience with Snowflake, or similar platforms
• 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting
• 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

Desired skills:

• Experience using AI-assisted programming tools such as Claude, Windsurf, or similar tools is a plus
• Experience integrating SaaS or third-party products into enterprise environments is a plus

Pay range: $60.12 - $68.12 per hour
