UMB Financial Corporation is building an Enterprise Cloud Architect team to accelerate cloud adoption with secure, governed, and cost-conscious platforms. The Cloud Engineer will help define strategy, design enterprise cloud solutions, and enable adoption across the business with hands‑on engineering and governance.
This hybrid role (Mon–Thu on‑site, Fri remote) is based at the downtown Kansas City, MO center, reporting to IT leadership and collaborating across teams to align architecture with
UMB’s Enterprise Cloud Architect team was recently formed to streamline and accelerate adoption of the Cloud. The team provides self‑service means to empower other teams to deploy cloud‑native platforms while ensuring security, governance, architectural best‑practice, cost containment, and control. The team works to provide architecture, tools, services, knowledge, support, organization structure, and operating model arranged as a compelling product.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be heavily participating in defining the organization’s cloud platform strategy, designing enterprise cloud solutions, and enabling cloud adoption across the business. This involves combining architecture vision with hands‑on cloud engineering to align technical decisions with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.
This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on‑site / Fri remote) at the UMB Technology & Operations Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

Targeted compensation for this opening: The posted salary range reflects the broadest standard range for this role, including all locations. The anticipated compensation for this specific position is $130,000 – 140,000. This role is also eligible for annual incentive pay.
