Job summary

Aether Aerospace pursues high‑impact cloud and defense tech initiatives from Hanscom AFB, MA. The Cloud DevOps Engineer II role focuses on assessing cloud needs, deploying OpenStack, and designing private cloud solutions integrated with hybrid platform management and identity services.

You will automate build pipelines, support security and compliance, manage networking, and develop scalable monitoring dashboards while aligning with program objectives and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Experienced in cloud and IT standards, principles, and theories.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and security principles.
• Scripting or programming for cloud automation.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools such as PagerDuty, Microsoft OMS, or Azure monitoring solutions.
• DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II certification.
• At least one cloud certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud infrastructure needs and participate in selecting and deploying OpenStack distributions.
• Design and implement private cloud infrastructure with hybrid platform integration.

• Manage TCP/IP networking in cloud and on‑premise environments.

Location: Hybrid Remote-Preferred Hanscom AFB, MA

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer II, you will assess cloud infrastructure needs, assist in selecting and deploying OpenStack distributions, and design private cloud solutions integrated with hybrid platform management, identity management, and R&D infrastructure. You will support automation efforts for build pipelines, migrations, security, and compliance while managing cloud and on-premise networking. Your responsibilities include implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, performing administrative tasks, and supporting applications. You will enhance security by applying patches, conducting security reviews, and managing access controls while helping implement enterprise monitoring solutions using industry-standard tools. Additionally, you will document processes, train development teams, identify automation opportunities, and develop scalable monitoring solutions, dashboards, and alerts, ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives.

The proposed salary range for this position is up to $119,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions
• Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
• Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area
• Participate in growth efforts as requested
• Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
• Complete personal PDP and attend staff meetings and Storytime (with the camera on)
• Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program
• Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements

Key Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance

Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and security principles
