Job summary

HawodTech Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to maintain and modernize our software architectures in the AWS public cloud, deploying and managing products and APIs to specification. You will work with DevOps/Systems, Software, and Database Engineers across multiple time zones.

Proficiency in Perl or Python and Bash is required, with strong Docker/OpenStack/LXD experience. You’ll help build monitoring/datastore infra using tools like Logstash, Splunk, Datadog, or CloudWatch

• Experience with automation tooling such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Terraform.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Systems operations experience in a large‑scale Linux environment.
• Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and best practices.
• Experience with virtualization or containerization platforms such as OpenStack, Docker, or LXD.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, and related protocols.
• Software troubleshooting experience.
• Fluent communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and monitor containerized applications.
• Deploy new applications and environments, and apply patches.
• Collaborate with engineering staff across time zones for reliable operations.
• Identify architectural changes to improve performance and scalability.
• Respond to outages promptly and restore services.
• Refine monitoring before and after outages.
• Write tooling to bridge engineering efforts with company tools.
• Monitor system performance and deliver statistics and reports.
• Create and maintain kernels and OS packages.
• Provide general assistance for Tech Support and Data Center Operations staff.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Document and diagram architectures and processes.
• Train others on systems and technologies.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and recommend cost-effective options.
• Create and maintain documentation as needed.
• Perform code reviews.
• Participate in an on‑call schedule.
