Job summary

Praescient Analytics is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to design, build, and maintain cloud-native automation and SIEM/SOAR integrations across Federal Law Enforcement enclaves in the NCR. U.S. citizenship is required and Top Secret/SCI eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software development, cloud engineering, or security automation in enterprise or government environments.
• Hands-on SOAR design/implementation using Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk SOAR, or ServiceNow.
• Cloud enclaves: AWS and Azure; SIEM/EDR tools and security infra.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworks; Linux and Bash scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud security solutions and automated workflows across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Build and deploy SOAR playbooks to automate incident response, remediation, and containment tasks.
• Integrate SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and IDS/IPS into unified automation pipelines.
• Develop scripts/routines (Bash) to streamline security operations; operationalize threat intel.

Position Overview:

Work Description:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud security solutions and automated workflows across multi-cloud environments (AWS and Microsoft Azure) in support of Federal Law Enforcement agency objectives.
• Build, test, and deploy Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) playbooks to automate incident response, vulnerability remediation, and threat containment tasks.
• Integrate enterprise security tools and telemetry sources—including SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and network intrusion detection systems—into unified automation pipelines.
• Develop custom scripts and automation routines (e.g., Bash) to streamline security operations and operationalize threat intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NSA/DARPA D3FEND.
• Collaborate closely with ISSOs, ISSEs, and system owners to ensure cloud infrastructure and automated workflows align with agency SAA requirements, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 controls, and enterprise change management protocols.
• Support deep-dive technical analysis, network packet analysis, and security telemetry reviews to troubleshoot automated integrations and validate control effectiveness.

Required Experience/Skills/Certifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in software development, cloud engineering, or security automation within enterprise or federal government environments.
• SOAR & Automation Expertise: Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing SOAR platforms and automated response workflows using enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk SOAR, or ServiceNow.
• Technology & Tooling Proficiency:
  • Cloud Enclaves: Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Security Systems & SIEM/EDR: SIEM platforms, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Cisco security infrastructure, IDS/IPS, and FireEye (NX/HX/EX).
  • Analysis & Frameworks: Wireshark, Linux, Bash scripting, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and D3FEND matrix.
• Certifications:
  • Must hold at least one (1) DoD 8570.01-M / IAM Level II or III compliant certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent).
  • Preferred: One or more cloud security/architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate [AZ-500], or CCSP).
• Clearance & Organizational Requirements: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with TS/SCI eligibility; ability to pass a agency polygraph examination and complete required Visit Access Request (VAR) security vetting processes.
