Job summary

PRIMUS Global Services seeks an experienced Cloud DBA to support enterprise database environments in a hybrid role. Expect strong expertise in AWS cloud database technologies, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server with a focus on performance tuning, monitoring, incident response, and high availability.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Oracle RAC and SQL Server Availability Groups, plus Linux scripting and database migrations.

Qualifications

• Experienced Cloud DBA with AWS cloud database technologies and major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Proven skills in database performance tuning, monitoring, incident response and high availability
• Extensive experience with AWS services (Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift) and cross-platform integrations
• Experience with Linux-based systems, scripting, migrations, and supporting development teams

Responsibilities

• Manage cloud databases in AWS with emphasis on reliability, performance, and availability
• Monitor and tune databases, investigate locks, blocking, and slow queries, and implement fixes
• Lead incident response and remediation for outages or degraded services
• Plan and implement backups, DR strategies, and data migrations as needed
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize data models and queries
